West Rand fans will be happy to note that the highly acclaimed Johnny Clegg’s upcoming performance is within reach this November.
Clegg took his highly acclaimed album, A South African Story, to the Royal Albert Hall in London in March this year and is excited to bring it home to the Teatro at Montecasino.
According to Real Concerts’ Kim Mari, fans from all over London (including South Africans) enjoyed his show at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall where Clegg gave his debut performance as a solo artist. Partnering with Talk Radio 702, he is bringing the show home to Montecasino from Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December.
“A South African Story covers Johnny’s life through his music and is an inspiring and uplifting voyage.
“It is an account of how local and international history has had an impact on his music.”
The show includes various forms of dance that influenced Clegg and is supported by visuals from his archives that the public has not seen before. This is supported by state-of-the-art lighting, sound and projection. The show features some of Clegg’s hits and special guest artists, and audiences might be surprised by some intimate unplugged moments.
