What peeves me however is how the media is abused when the elections draw near.

Sure, feel free to blame us for entertaining it, but think about it for a second …

Party A causes some serious trouble that Party B becomes aware of. Party B knows that Party A’s actions will be covered in the media. Party B then prepares a press release or contacts the media directly, condemning Party A’s actions. When Party B messes up, Party A does the same.

Irritating isn’t it?

So why do we, as the media, entertain it?

Simple. More than often Party B’s response to Party A’s action is that vital other side of the story, but it doesn’t stop there. Many times Party B unintentionally reveals bits of their own agenda.

Their true colours emerge and gives you a good indication of who you should not elect to run our country.

So as childish as it may sound, pay attention, because most of the time, what the media can’t publish, is revealed by the loud mouths themselves.

Until next week.
