Spring has sprung at Garden World

Celebrate spring in various ways at Garden World, Muldersdrift.

Spring has already sprung at Garden World and is to be celebrated with a Spring Festival and special exhibition between 26 July and 1 September.

The annual Spring Festival at Garden World offers several different ways to celebrate the new season.

Get inspired to plan and plant a new garden with the 11 different designer show gardens that feature new talent on the landscape scene. Residents might also be inspired by and learn a lot from the Rand Water display on water conservation. Garden World staff suggest starting one’s spring cleaning early, throwing out the old and perhaps adding new items from their latest Design Quarters.

The children’s exhibitions and little box gardens create a miniature world and might inspire your inner child. Children can also learn about birds by creating bird feeders at a craft workshop held on Saturday 17 August. Spring music will entice any gardener with Tanya Visser, Richard Cock and Mayford Seeds performing a popular, rollicking morning of music on Saturday 24 August.

Perhaps most exciting is the spectacular showcase of the best South African flora at the Golden awardwinning 2013 Kirstenbosch-SA Chelsea exhibit. This recreation at Garden World was made possible by the Department of Trade and Industry, Mogale City and Clover Mama Afrika. Enjoy tea and scones afterwards.

The Spring Festival will be held at Garden World on Beyers Naudé Drive in Muldersdrift. Entrance to the designer gardens is R20 per person and children under 12 get in free.

Bookings for talks, workshops and music is essential. To avoid missing it all, contact Either Magriet or Corné on 011 957 2545 or 011 956 3003. For more information about the festival visit www.gardenworld.co.za .
