Helderkruin Lions welcomes first female president

Helderkruin — The Helderkruin Lions held their annual presidential induction dinner at the prestigious Ramkietjie Country Estate on Saturday 8 June.
Past district governor George MacDonald performed the induction of the Helderkruin Lions’ first-ever female president Jonquille Bands on the day.
Lion Jonquille made it known that her theme for her year in office during 2013 and 2014 will be ‘Together we stand, together we serve’.
Jonquille proudly accepted the club charter from current district governor Ivan du Plooy and was also presented with the gong and gavel by fellow Helderkruin member and zone chairperson Lion Karl Bands.
“As a young club, the Helderkruin Lions strive to assist the community wherever the need arises and we are looking forward to another successful year of service at the helm of Lion President Jonquille,” Karl Bands told the Record.
