The South African Christian School’s Sports Association (SACSSA) invited schools to participate in their annual sporting event in Sasolburg on August 31.
SACSSA is a Christian organisation that supports sporting events for Christian schools in the Gauteng region. Ruimsig Academy brought their best athletes forward and showcased their best skills and sportsmanship, with over 1 000 schools competing to secure a spot in the nationals.
According to the head of sport at the school, Crystal van der Merwe, several medals were won, with 16 athletes selected to represent the school at the SACSSA Nationals, which is set to take place on September 20 and 21.
“We are so proud of our learners; they showed discipline and commitment to their events. We wish them well for the upcoming nationals and hope we bring back more medals,” Crystal said.
