Didintle makes the U19 SA team

The Mvulusudzo Netball Academy's rise to success.

Didintle Mocwiri, a talented player from Mvusuludzo’s Netball Academy, has made history and shattered expectations by securing a spot in the U19 national team.

Her selections come as her netball sporting prowess left everyone in awe and up on their feet at the Talent Identification and National Championships that were held in Tshwane recently.

According to coach Mmagauta Zwane, Didintle has been training with the club for two years now, and she always knew that she had it in her.

She says she has been one of the consistent and most hard-working girls in the club, and her passion and dedication for the sport are an inspiration to other girls in the club, and this achievement is one of the biggest highlights in the club.

The club started three years ago when Mmaguata stumbled upon a group of girls fresh from netball training in Florida CBD and asked if he could join them. To her surprise, they asked her to be their coach. And so the Mvusuludzo Netball Academy was born.

“The club aims to instil discipline in the young minds that will take them further in life and create a safe net for them while equipping them with great netball skills.

“We have grown exceptionally over the few years, and we have few accolades, including two consecutive wins at the Doctor Khumalo Netball Academy for U17 and impressive performances in various Gauteng tournaments,” says Mmagauta.

Currently, they are part of the Soweto 21 league, and they participate in games at Elka Stadium in Rockville. Mmaguata says one of their highlights this year was winning the Doctor Khumalo tournament and seeing one of their own, Didintle, make the U19 national squad.
