Bowling fundraising day bowls over participants

Witpoortjie Bowling hosts a fundraising day on Women's Day.

The Witpoortjie Bowling Club recently hosted a highly successful fundraising event, bringing together an enthusiastic group of bowlers for a fun-filled day of competition and camaraderie.

Hosted on Women’s Day, the event was also aimed at celebrating the strength and resilience of women which was a wonderful way for everyone to come together to unwind and enjoy a good game while standing a chance to win good prizes.

According to Tilly Olwagen, the organiser of this event, men and women from five different clubs came to support them for this fundraising day, and all the proceeds go to their annual ladies’ day planning as well as maintaining the club.

“Our ladies’ day is set to take place on October 21, and our theme for that day is Barbie. We will invite other clubs, and the ladies will dress up and have a good day of bowls, and there will be live entertainment, prizes and lucky draws,” said Tilly.

In this game, the teams were grouped into four players, and the team with the highest score took home R800, with each player receiving R400.

Food and drinks were sold at the event with live music for entertainment. She thanked all the dedicated clubs and their players who took part in this event.
