Football team ready to dominate

The U10 Panorama FC boys are gearing up with excitement to compete in the Wynburg St John's AFC tournament in Cape Town.

The Panorama Football Club is well known for its exceptional track record of providing a platform for talented and potential football players to mould their skills and let them progress.

For the first time, the U10 boys team has been selected to participate in the prestigious Wynberg St Johns Amateurs Football Club (AFC) tournament in Cape Town, set to take place from September 20 to 27.

St John’s AFC’s first inception was in 1923, when it attracted skilled and previously disadvantaged players and later joined forces with Wynberg Soccer Club hosting tournaments for upcoming football stars. With first prize in their sights, the team is eager to compete against 20 other clubs and emerge victorious.

According to U10 head coach Mxolisi Moyo, participating in this tournament will provide a platform for the boys to gain experience, build their chemistry as a team, and learn essential life skills like self-discipline and socialisation.

“The team’s selection was based on the talent, willingness, agility and consistency they have shown from previous matches competing in the South African Football Association’s Johannesburg Men’s Regional League and the Gauteng Development League. With three training sessions a week, the boys are well-prepared for the tournament. They have added extra training sessions on Sundays as part of their preparations.

“The boys are very excited, as am I, because we saw how hard they worked. This is the perfect chance to challenge them with teams outside their comfort zone,” Moyo said.

As the team prepares for their big tournament, the football club appreciates the support and contributions towards shaping the future of the young players. For more information, contact Moyo on 083 858 0213 or email kranx4@gmail.com.
