Supporting Cara with flair and fun

Fundraiser held for trip overseas.

The phrase “stronger together“ was the highlight of the fundraising event for Cara Rood on Saturday, July 20, which was hosted at Curves Strubens Valley.

Cara is a young and ambitious woman whose dream is to embark on a fishing trip overseas, which was made a reality by the heartwarming support she received.

The gym, which is predominantly for females only, showed its support by inviting schools and the community for an exciting day featuring a partner challenge, coffee and muffin sales, and a raffle aimed at supporting Cara’s dream.

Nickey Seger, the owner of Curves, expressed her gratitude to the Curves staff and members who came to support Cara and her dream. She told the Roodepoort Northsider that the gym is not only dedicated to being a positive hub for women but also to hosting such events and building one another.

“As we celebrate this achievement, we are reminded that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a large impact and inspire amazing girls such as Cara to shine a little brighter,” Nickey added.
