Kwena soccer day a huge success

Local soccer teams made a strong showing at Kwena Square's five-a-side soccer tournament.

Kwena Square, in collaboration with Decathlon Little Falls, hosted a successful market day and five-a-side soccer tournament recently.

Residents browsed through the variety of market stalls looking for bargains, while teams fought it out for the top spot and their share of R5 000 in prizes.

According to Kwena Square’s marketing manager Holly Namathitthi, this event underscored the centre’s commitment to health, well-being, and community spirit, bringing together individuals of all ages for a day filled with fun, fitness, and memorable experiences.

The event presented a platform for local vendors where they could promote and sell their unique ranges of products and services.

The soccer tournament featured six teams competing in friendly matches, providing an excellent opportunity for participants to engage in healthy outdoor activities.

Prizes were sponsored by a host of local businesses including Decathlon SA, Lupa Osteria Little Falls, RocoMamas, Leroy Merlin SA, Walton’s Bidvest and Checkers.

Local soccer team, The Chosen Eleven took top honours at the tournament, with Toppies walking away with a well-deserved second place.
