Crawford swimmer continues to do wonders

Megan continues to embrace her swimming skills and talent.

Crawford International Ruimsig Grade Six learner Megan Palmer competed in the annual Electric Eels Medal Gala at the Wahoo Aquatic Centre in Sunninghill recently.

The gala attracts talented young swimmers from various schools and clubs, offering them an opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive environment. Participants compete in multiple categories, such as Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, and Individual Medley, with medals awarded to the top performers. The event is known for its high level of competition and provides an excellent platform for swimmers to gain experience and recognition.

Megan successfully pocketed two gold (Freestyle and Backstroke) and two silver (Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley) medals from the gala.

In March, she also participated in the SSA Level 2 Regionals and dominated in her U12 races, clinching an impressive five gold medals in the 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke, and the 50m x 4 Strokes relay.

Megan also claimed silver in the 13–14 age group Medley Relay and bronze in the 50m Backstroke further establishing her as a formidable competitor in the pool.

According to Crawford’s marketing officer Lindsey van Bowen, Megan’s dedication and hard work are truly inspiring, she is a fantastic representative of our school and Crawford can’t wait to see what else she sets out to achieve.

“We are incredibly proud of Megan. She had an outstanding performance,” said Lindsey.

Megan continues to pursue excellence in the pool and the entire Crawford International Ruimsig community beams with pride.
