Trinityhouse rugby on the rise

Trinityhouse Little Falls is making a name for itself on the rugby field.

Trinityhouse Little Falls rugby teams took part in the cup finals of the Shadow Ball series, hosted by Dainfern College last weekend, and once again did their school – and the West Rand – proud.

According to Trinityhouse Little Falls head of marketing and admissions Vinni Townsend, the school’s rugby players put their training to good use, putting up a solid display of discipline and sheer determination, and delivering very good results on the day.

In the first game of the day, Trinityhouse’s U14s took on Dainfern College, managing a convincing win to be crowned champions in the age group.

“Our U15s played for a bronze medal against St Dunstan’s College. They won their match, and finished third overall,” says Townsend.

The U17 players had a harder time of it, facing two strong opponents on the day.

“Unfortunately, they fell short of a victory in both of them and finished 4th overall.”

Eventually, it was time for the titanic clashes that everyone was waiting to see.

Trinityhouse’s first team started the day with a semi-final match against Dainfern College. After a hard-fought 80 minutes, Trinityhouse emerged victorious, and convincingly so.

Their victory secured their place in the final against the French International School.

“The boys played exceptionally well and showed a lot of heart,” says Vinni.

“Unfortunately, the French team proved too strong and we had to be content with a second place overall. We are extremely proud of our rugby boys for all the effort and commitment they showcased throughout the season. We are excited to see what the future holds for Trinityhouse Little Falls rugby.
