Pro Football Group develops football youngsters

Roodepoort youngsters attend football development workshop.

The Pro Football Group in collaboration with Tshepang Electrical hosted a football workshop at Princess High School on May 25.

According to the TSD Sports Academy and Pro Football Group member, Thulani Duma, the purpose of the workshop is to suitably equip young footballers with the information they need to get into professional football.

The group also invited retired local football stars to inspire them to dream and see that it is possible to become a professional football player and teach them how to deal with their career pitfalls.

Youngsters had an opportunity to ask questions of their interest and more clarity was presented to them when needed.

“We also help them gain knowledge on how to elongate a career in professional football and how to be a responsible footballer,” he added.

The workshop was attended by a variety of people in the community including 54 young footballers, nine coaches, and a Member of Parliament, Dr Xiaomei Havard. Dr Havard inspired youngsters who aspire to be professional footballers to reach their full potential and she based her speech more on discipline and hard work.

“The group received support from Tshepang Electrical and they have a desire to contribute positively to our Roodepoort communities and bring developments in our local football community,” Duma said.

Duma believes that there is no better contribution than developing the youth to have a career in the industry which they dream of pursuing.
