Winter sport season kicks off with successful festival

Trinityhouse Little Falls recently held their annual Winter Sports Festival where their team excelled in rugby, netball, and hockey.

The Winter Sports Festival hosted by Trinityhouse Little Falls brought together enthusiasts and athletes from schools across Johannesburg to celebrate the thrill and camaraderie of rugby, hockey, and netball.

According to principal Shaun Hansel, this festival showcased the best of these sports while fostering a sense of community and sportsmanship among participants.

The festival kicked off with an exciting launch of the Shadow Ball 7’s rugby league, featuring 19 different schools.

From intense scrums to breathtaking tries, spectators were treated to a display of athleticism and strategic gameplay. Players exhibited exceptional teamwork and determination, making each match a spectacle to behold.

On the hockey astro, there was some fierce competition. Teams showcased their stick-handling skills, speed, and precision in a series of matches that kept the audience in awe.

Whether it was skilful dribbling or powerful shots on goal, players left everything on the astro, delivering a memorable experience for both players and spectators.

The netball courts were alive with energy as teams competed. Players demonstrated agility, co-ordination, and tactical ability in fast-paced matches that highlighted the essence of netball. From precise passes to skilful interceptions, every moment of the festival was filled with excitement and intensity.

Trinityhouse’s defence was impenetrable.

“The festival succeeded in bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds, fostering a sense of belonging and community spirit,” says Hansel.

“Families, friends, and sports enthusiasts gathered to support their teams and celebrate the joy of sportsmanship. It proved to be a great success for Trinityhouse Little Falls, celebrating the thrill and excitement of rugby, hockey, and netball while promoting community engagement and athletic excellence.”
