Action Sports Hillfox hosts netball academy

Hillfox Action Sports launched a Netball Academy for eager girls and boys for the future of the club.

Being the overall winner for the 2024 Gauteng Super League, Hillfox Action Sports never ceases to exceed its expectations while growing its netball goals.

Action Sports Hillfox organised a netball academy on April 7 for girls and boys who want to master various netball skills and drills. The academy was in collaboration with the South African Indoor Netball Team.

According to Rene Blok, the academy was established to allow teams to engage with elite players and gain inspiration to reach their current status rather than only imparting skills.

The SA Ladies and the SA U19 mixed team competed in the Tri-Series World Cup held in Brisbane, Australia, recently and have shown that they can indeed fill the big shoes of representing their country. The U19 mixed team took home a gold medal against Australia and hopes to share this big achievement with the young girls and boys who wish to one day play professional indoor netball.

The academy is set to take place weekly, inviting more teams who wish to learn skills from the prestigious professional national indoor players.

“The motive is to get more eager teams to join the programme and hopefully be a part of our teams one day. Talent can be found anywhere and such programmes can help us find our next top player,” Rene adds.
