Crawford International brings action games to Ruimsig

Crawford International Ruimsig welcomes other campuses to their Inter-Crawford festival.

Crawford International hosted their annual Inter-Crawford Sports Festival during the Easter break at the Ruimsig campus.

According to the school’s marketing director, Lindsay van Boven, this event is not only hosted to help the upcoming sportsmen and sportswomen find their fit in sport but also to help ease their academic workload.

“The main aim of the friendly competition among the learners was to add an extra layer of competition and excitement against fellow Crawfordians from different locations.”

The festival started in style, as all campuses performed their welcoming songs and chants during the opening ceremony. Crawford Ruimsig welcomed all six campuses in a hyped mood. Every team was hoping to obtain outstanding results over other teams. The spirit of competition and achievement hunger filled the courts and fields as the teams went head to head.

“We were able to meet our Kenyan sports teams for the first time, and it was also an opportunity for La Lucia and North Coast to join us competitively,” Lindsay said.

The Kenyan learners had to teach other campuses their chants as it was rated one of the best. All Crawford schools competed in various sporting codes, including netball, chess, soccer, hockey, basketball and tennis.

“Events like these provide valuable opportunities for our learners to showcase their skills, learn from each other, and build camaraderie. It also fosters a sense of belonging to the larger Crawford International community. Overall, it not only provided a platform for students to excel in sports but also contributed to their personal and social development,” she added.

Other Crawford principals congratulated Crawford Ruimsig for hosting this massive event and congratulated all learners who received awards for their outstanding performances.
