Parkrun gains momentum

The Ruimsig parkrun is fast becoming one of the biggest weekly sporting events in the Roodepoort region, regularly attracting over 400 people.

The Ruimsig parkrun continues to attract large crowds to their weekly runs. Their latest event held on February 24 sported an astonishing 400 runners, taking on their scenic, yet fairly challenging course, which has become a favourite on the parkrun calendar.

Runners from all walks of life descended on the Ruimsig Stadium in the early morning to take part, some taking the challenge very seriously, some to keep fit, and others simply for a refreshing morning walk.

Another facet of this weekly run is milestones. This week’s run featured four runners achieving milestones, two having completed their 50th runs, and two having done their 150th runs.
