Eventful parkrun at Len Rutter Park in Florida
Many runners set off for the weekly parkrun for a sense of community and to keep fit.

It was an eventful day on February 10 at the Roodepoort parkrun with milestone runs, personal bests and even a pit bull visiting.
Many runners set off for the weekly parkrun for a sense of community and to keep fit.

The day started with volunteers finding a pit bull roaming around in the park, so they held onto him while the runners completed their 5km run and were set to call the SPCA afterwards.

In total, there were 539 runners and 38 volunteers. There were 48 personal best records recorded and 46 first runners gave the course a go.

There were also a total of four milestone runs – one 200th, two runners finished their 100th and one their 50th.
