Parkrun in full swing for the new year

Almost 500 runners for the second parkrun of the year.

Many started the new year by keeping fit and healthy at the Ruimsig parkrun.

Tim Barker, the day’s run director, explained the turnout has been quite impressive with around 250 runners on December 30, about 180 on January 1, and 480 on January 6. He added he believes the numbers will pick up even more as people are committing to their New Year’s resolutions.

Lukas Breedt finished his 100th parkrun on January 6.

For those who want to give the run a try, it is every Saturday at 8:00 free of charge, all in the name of keeping fit.
