13-year-old Ruimsig parkrunner loves volunteering
A young Ruimsig-based volunteer shares his inspiration to help out in his community.
Xander Lombard has been running parkruns since he was only six years old.
He grinned explaining that he loves attending the parkrun because it is a fun and safe way to exercise and get out of the house.
“I have run 30 parkruns and I volunteered for the first time in 2016 and then only again in 2023 and since then I just love the vibe and helping out,” explained Xander.
Other than running his weekly parkrun, Xander helps his teachers out after school, focuses on his school work, plays piano, and goes to the gym during his free time.
This young, determined man dreams of becoming a pilot when he is older.
