KJK Judo Academy judoka showcases skills at the South African Schools Tournament

The academy walked away with eight gold, four silver, and one bronze medal collectively.

The judoka from KJK Judo Academy impressed at the South African Schools Tournament.

“All our youngsters fought well and the team spirit was awesome! All the children came home with a medal, and most of them came home with two or even three medals,” said their sensei, Katja Bruwer.

In the South African Schools Kata Competition, the following pairs all received gold medals: Johvan Taljaardt and Retief Brand, Adam Williams and Justin Janse van Rensburg, Nico Sheppard and Xander van der Watt with Nico together with Liam Page receiving silver medals.

The South African Schools Novice Competition saw Retief, Adam and Justin each receiving a gold medal and Johvan a silver medal.

In the South African Schools Advanced Tournament, Xander and Nico each received a gold medal, while Josua Haarhoff and Justin each walked away with a silver medal and Liam with a bronze medal.
