Third place at Pirates 10km run for RAC junior
Even though it was a hard race, Michelle persevered and walked away with the third prize.
A junior member of Roodepoort Athletics Club won third place at Pirates 10km run recently.
Michelle Cilliers (17), the third-place winner of the race said, “The race was really fun. I enjoyed it so much. It was a great race to test your strength.”
She added she prepared for two months and about her accomplishment she stated, “It feels so unreal. I worked really hard, and it feels amazing to see hard work pay off.”
She continued to say she chose running as a way to relieve stress and get outside, but she doesn’t have any particular races coming up.
Her advice to prospective runners is, “When you feel like giving up, push through. It’s a work in progress. Work hard, run harder, and do it all with a smile.”
