Local football development club hosts weekend tournament

The football tournament is part of activations within the West Rand region with its mandate to promote football development.

Etimar Football Foundation held a tournament at Westridge High School on Saturday, September 16 as part of its football development mandate within the region.

Five teams participated in the first leg of the tournament where teams each had two 20-minute halves creating an average of four games per team.

Five teams played while six initially registered and teams hail from different areas within the region.

Faka Imali FC from Johannesburg, Bafana Bafana Kagiso, KFC United Roodepoort, Monate FC Soweto and Roodepoort AC Roodepoort.

The game results were as follows:

1. Bafana Bafana Kagiso vs KFC United 1–1
2. Monate FC vs Faka Imali 1–2
3. KFC United vs Faka Imali 2–1
4. Bafana Bafana Kagiso vs Roodepoort AC 4–2
5. Monate FC vs Bafana Bafana Kagiso 2–3
6. Roodepoort AC vs Monate FC 0–2
7. Faka Imali vs Bafana Bafana Kagiso 2–3
8. KFC United vs Monate FC 2–2
9. KFC United vs Roodepoort AC 3–0
10. Faka Imali vs Roodepoort AC 3–0

The tournament tallied scores at the end and Bafana Bafana Kagiso walked away with 10 points, KFC United with eight points, Monate FC with seven, Faka Imali with six, and Roodepoort AC with zero points.
