Ruimsig kickboxers return from World Champs with 6 gold medals

Triple Threat Dojo fighters represented South Africa during the WKO Championships and brought home over a dozen medals as well as three world champions.

The young kickboxers at Triple Threat Dojo proudly represented their community during the World Kickboxing Organisation (WKO) Championships held in England earlier this month. With four kickboxers and a well-experienced sensei, the group brought home 17 medals and three World Champions.

Wade Rendall, sensei at Triple Threat Dojo, exclaimed that it has been an honour to take the four outstanding fighters to the WKO championships representing Ring Contact Fighters Association International for South Africa with around 24 countries present.

Chloe Assad (17), better known as Gypsy Beast in the ring, fought her heart out with unmatched mental strength, explosive combos, and the ability to surprise her opponents and the crowd with some flashing strikes. She won three gold and one silver medal.

Camielle Goldstone (32), known to her fellow fighters as Boss Lady, ended up fighting six different modes and won two gold, three silver, and one bronze medal.

“Camielle fought valiantly above her weight category,” Rendall stated proudly.

“Brett Heslop (18), who fought with world-class technical ability, made us proud on the international stage fighting in four divisions, winning one gold, two hard-fought silvers and one bronze medal,” beamed Rendall.

The fourth fighter from the dojo, Christo Ankersmit (16), had an unfortunate fall that resulted in a back injury days before flying to the world champs.

“Even though Christo hurt his back last weekend, he still received two silver medals during the championship,” he added.
