Mini-netball day proved a wonderful teambuilding experience

In mini-netball, the focus is not on the score, but rather on building a love for the game.

On Saturday, May 6, girls from all around D12 gathered for an action-packed day of mini-netball matches, sponsored by PEP and hosted by Crawford International Ruimsig.
The day included not only excitement for netball, but also face painting, music, dancing, and prizes!

Crawfordian teacher, Cindy van Heerden, served as announcer, while the guest MC, Mbali Sigidi, added to the excitement with her fascinating personality. Marelise Lombard, D12 Mini Netball convener, and representatives from SASN (Nellie Makhathini), Playmakers (Charlton Mepomie), and DBS Sport (Avukile Khuphiso) were crucial in organising the day. Ashleigh Bateman, Crawford’s Junior Prep Principal, and David Maree, Crawford’s College Principal, also attended the festivities.

During intervals, the school spun a wheel to see who would win a PEP voucher, which made the day that much more exciting! Participating schools included Crawford International Ruimsig, Laerskool Florida, The King’s School West Rand, Laerskool Roodebeeck, Arthur Matthews Primary, Panorama Primary, Fleurhof Primary, The King’s School Discovery, and Florida Primary.

In mini-netball, the focus is not on the score, but rather on building a love for the game, ensuring that everyone feels like a winner. No score was kept but the girls certainly were competitive, enjoying every minute of the day.
