Wrestling madness playout at Danie Van Zyl

The event was attended by over 400 spectators with MC Duncan McLaren making exciting wrestler announcements while the two referees Clifford and Clive The Judge made accurate decisions.

Wrestling fans were treated to a spectacular full production show presented by African Punishment Wrestling Association (APWA) at the Danie van Zyl Recreation Centre on Friday evening, December 9.

The all-stars wrestling madness featured six fights, with the ladder match for the APWA performance championship and the battle between former WWE Superstar PJ Black and Ananzi standing out.

The crowd favourites during the evening were Ananzi and Alex Desire with wrestlers Kira, Latitia, AJ Edwards, Matthew Hammar, Super Dragon, Wiese, Janneman Lubbe and Kilimanjaro providing much anticipated entertainment.

The Champions Pro Wrestling (CPW) All Africa Champion The Loudmouth (Donovan Blignaut), Alex Desire, Zizou and Thierry Middoux, Ananzi and PJ Black left the spectators yearning for more action.

The five-star rated match between Alex Desire and Zizou Middoux was a spectacular and left the spectators cheering in satisfaction.

“We would like to extend our festive wishes to all the fans who have supported APWA and its performers over the past year.

“We wish them a safe and prosperous 2023 and wish them a safe and peaceful festive season,” said Kobus Erasmus (Ananzi).

The special guests were two world champions – Honour Wrestling Association (HWA) World Champion and Pro Wrestler Steve Eden and Boxing World Champion Hekkie Budler (The Hexecutioner).

There were also ‘old school’ wrestlers present at the venue like Tornado who was the referee to the main event.

Venus and Akilah, both former women’s champions, and the Coalminer, a former tag team champion, also graced the event with their presence.
