Kickboxing dojo to host a charity boot camp

According to Triple Threat Dojo owner, Wade Rendall, the gym has been running various charity and fundraising events over the last three years.

Triple Threat Dojo, in association with Avianto, will be hosting a Freedom Day Charity Boot Camp at the Avianto sports park on Tuesday, 27 April.

The event will run for two hours from 7am to 9am, and a combination of fitness training, mobility exercises and plyometric routines will be done.

According to Triple Threat Dojo owner, Wade Rendall, the gym has been running various charity and fundraising events over the last three years.

“We see a need for basic necessities at various shelters and soup kitchens, so we try to provide to those who we feel care about their community and don’t want funds only,” said Wade.

Fred and Martie’s Soup Kitchen from Wade’s childhood area that feeds children, the poor and the homeless in Newclare, Westbury and Clearmont is one of the charities that will be benefiting from the charity boot camp.

A women’s shelter in Yeoville, Frida Hartley Shelter, will also benefit from the charity boot camp, which is also aimed at empowering women.

To book, members of the community will pay R50 entrance fee and are requested to bring along a donation in the form of food, clothing, toiletries and bedding.

“We will continue to run events at least a few times this year, and we will look for a third organisation if we receive plenty of donations,” said Wade.

Members of the public are advised to contact Wade on 083 328 4303 or wade@triplethreatdojo.co.za for more information.
