Three ProTouch riders to represent SA

Kent Main, Rohan du Plooy and Gustav Basson will be joining current SA National Road Champion, Ryan Gibbons and their 2019 teammate Clint Hendricks.

 

ProTouch Cycling based in Honeydew announced that three of its riders have been selected to represent the South African National Team at the 15th CAC African Road Championships in Egypt from 2 to 6 March.

Kent Main, Rohan du Plooy and Gustav Basson will be joining current SA National Road Champion, Ryan Gibbons and their 2019 teammate Clint Hendricks.

Cycling South Africa (CSA) announced its team that will be competing at the African Championships on Tuesday, 9 February a month before the event kicks off.

The men’s elite team will be spearheaded by Ryan who will take part in both the road and team time trial, as will Kent, Gustav and Jason Oosthuizen.

According to CSA, those representing South Africa in the individual time trial will be confirmed at a later date.

The remainder of the men’s elite and U/23 squad are Rohan, Clint, Travis Barrett and Travis Stedman.

Towards the end of 2020, the Honeydew outfit together with Del Forno Pizza Pasta Grill Restaurant handed over a brand-new kit as well as a nutrition pack to the Bushbuckridge Cycling Academy.

The Streamline Brands Group, best known for its Del Forno Pizza Pasta Grill Restaurants, announced its sponsorship of the top Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) ranked ProTouch Continental Team for the 2021 season.
