Decorated boxer from the West Rand’s Team Dida Boxing Camp, Linda Ntshingila, has come out to share some easy workout tips to keep you in shape during this difficult period.

The national lockdown has in disguise afforded numerous citizens of this country the opportunity to try out different activities in the comfort of their homes.

Exercising has been the most prominent form of activity that many have engaged in. We’ve figured that some might be willing to work on their bodies, but have no idea how to start.

Decorated boxer from the West Rand’s Team Dida Boxing Camp, Linda Ntshingila, has shared some easy workout tips to keep you in shape during this difficult period.

Ntshingila, who has been leading by example on social media – sweating it out to maintain his great level of fitness – gave tips on a workout programme, to start with for beginners.

“First of all set personal short-term goals, design a workout schedule and programmes that you will follow on a daily basis, and make sure to be consistent,” he advised.

He added that a lot can be achieved without using weights and other gym equipment. “You don’t need gym equipment to achieve a great physique. All natural bodyweight exercises like pull-ups, push-ups, crunches, squat jumps, lunges, kicks, aerobics and many more, depending on individual preferences and goals, are all you need,” he explained.

While exercising solo can decrease morality, the Gentle Beast (as he is known in the square circle), suggested people challenge their acquaintances.

“Challenge someone on certain workouts, or create a social media challenge and tag a buddy you want to challenge, and also take their challenges,” he encouraged, further suggesting people to stock up on a lot of healthy food such as fruits and veggies, and try to avoid junk food as much as possible.

“You can achieve any goal that you set, and all depends on yourself and on the effort that you put in, consistency and not cheating yourself. Your success rate depends on no one but yourself,” a motivated Ntshingila concluded.
