Golden Drifters Football Club has awarded its player, Thembinkosi Shabangu, the title of Best Player of January.
While January can be seen as the toughest time to get players back on form following the Christmas break, form was no hassle for Thembinkosi who hails from KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga.
The player, who struggled to find game time last year due to a string of injuries, returned to his best form in the second half of the West Rand SAB League.
He managed to score two goals in the three games he played, which is an appreciable achievement, according to the club president, Proud Shoko.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Themba confirmed that he was on form, and that the club should expect more from him.
Certainly a lot will be expected from him as the club fights to finish in good standing, come the end of the 2019/ 2020 season.
