Judokas enhance their self-defence skills
The exciting day was open to all judokas to learn the technique of self-defence in kata.
Judokas from the KJK Judo Club did a fighting course during the weekend of 17 and 18 January. It was hosted by the Gauteng Judo Federation.
Participants spent the Friday training hard, while practising the required skills in Nage No Kata, which consists of five sets of three throws, each performed on both the left and right sides, under the leadership of 8th Dan Sensei Koji Komata. They spent the Saturday training in the art of Goshinjitsu, which is a modern martial arts technique and focuses primarily on modern-day self-defence tactics.
