Roodepoort Athletics Club hosts a fun open day

The RAC is looking to attract new members, especially some of the younger generation.

On Saturday, 11 January, the Roodepoort Athletics Club hosted an open day with a fun run for the community to enjoy. The aim was to show prospective members what to expect and help them decide if they would like to join the club.

The event started at 6 am and runners, cyclists and walkers could take on either the 5km or 10km distance. Afterward participants were treated to a delicious boerewors roll, and before returning home they also had the opportunity to enroll and become a member of the RAC.

Water tables for the runners were sponsored by Sportsmans Warehouse Princess Crossing, and the lucky-draw vouchers were sponsored by Randburg Runner.

The purpose of the open day was to introduce the running club to the community in an attempt to bolster the Club’s membership by attracting new members, especially the younger generation.
