WATCH: Panorama celebrates a year to remember

Club going from strength to strength

For over 30 years, Panorama Football Club has been a hub of footballing development. Many have graced its pitches as players and coaches, and more have left lasting memories. The current custodians are fast cementing themselves as the foundation of the future and they celebrated the season that was 2019 in style on Saturday, 16 November.

Players, coaches, administrators and parents gathered at the club to show appreciation for one another and recognise the collective strides they were taking as a club. With a growing membership, incremental improvements to the infrastructure and a partnership with professional outfit TS Galaxy, the club is becoming the standout footballing presence in the greater Roodepoort area. Another big announcement was a partnership with new shirt sponsor, Nashua West Rand.

Chairman Michael Michael proudly stated, “This has been the most successful season at Pana in the last 10 years”. Teams that received special praise at the prize-giving were this year’s U/12s and U/9s. The U/12s were the winners of their age group’s Superleague Cup and the U/9s were the winners of the Steven Pienaar Community Cup.

Individually, Academy Player of the Year went to Ronald Tshuma; Little League Player of the Year was Nawaaz Collins Moegamad, while Shamir Mattera won Junior Player of the Year, and Club Top Scorer was Stylianos Michael. The leading light of those who aim to get the best from these talent players was Academy Coach of the Year, Ashraf Hendricks.

Tobi Idebi and Nicholai Richards are part of the new generation of budding coaches entrusted with the development of some of the clubs youngest members.”The club is a healthy environment and is headed in the right direction. All the coaches are well trained, management is great and there is investment into the growth of the club” said an optimistic Tobi, who coaches the U/6s. Nicholai, who coaches the U/7s said, “It’s a family club with its eye on the future, and a great club to be part of”.

Passionate members old and new are working hard to elevate the club to new heights. All the ingredients exist for the club to continue bounding into the future, creating the footballing talent that will one day dazzle the crowds in the stadiums of the world’s greatest leagues.
