Milestones galore at Roodepoort parkrun

50 runners reached a new personal best times in completing the course

On Saturday, 9 November, 684 runners, of which 48 were first timers, joined the weekly parkrun.

The first male to cross the finish line was James Bantom, in a time of 18 minutes and 10 seconds. Lerato Mahlangu was the first woman to cross the line, recording a new personal best time of 25 minutes and 10 seconds.

Other milestones were also celebrated – Karen Plaatjes and Annerie van der Walt completed their 50th parkruns, while Storm Wright and Margaret Pretorius ran their 100th.

Joan Edwards celebrated her 150th parkrun and male runner Ashley Burston completed his 200th race. During this event, 50 runners, joggers and walkers recorded new personal bests as well.

Roodepoort parkrun takes place every Saturday at the Len Rutter Park in Florida Park and starts at 8am.
