Local gymnast gains much-needed experience in Portugal

Tamsyn trains at the Visions Gymnastics club in Strubens Valley were she spends a lot of time practising and perfecting her moves.

 

Sixteen-year-old Tamsyn Bessit competed at the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) World Challenge Cup for Artistic Gymnastics held in Portugal from 19 to 22 September 2019.

Tamsyn trains at the Visions Gymnastics club in Strubens Valley were she spends a lot of time practising and perfecting her moves.

This senior Olympic gymnast is a learner at St Barnabas College and currently lives in Eldorado Park in Johannesburg.

Tamsyn said, “I learnt a lot from Portugal as I was competing against the world’s top gymnasts, so you can just imagine the competitive nature of the tournament. I am so grateful for the opportunity and that I’ve come back home a better gymnast.”

The young gymnast spends most of her spare time at the gym and is looking forward to competing in and gaining more experience from upcoming tournaments.
