The organisers of South Africa’s most exciting schools athletics ‘talent identification’ programme, the PUMA School of Speed Series, are excited to announce the event dates and venues for 2020.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the fifth running of the PUMA School of Speed Series in 2020,” said Michael Meyer, Managing Director at Stillwater Sports. “Launched in 2016 with a clear goal to identify South Africa’s exceptional talent, the PUMA School of Speed Series has delivered on all promises. The Meets are fast-paced and action-packed. We are excited to extend our reach by welcoming the University of Mpumalanga (Mbombela/ Nelspruit) as a new venue in 2020. Together with PUMA, we are proud to continue growing this sensational sport in South Africa while paving the way for ‘Future Stars’.”

“The energy experienced at the PUMA School of Speed Meets is unsurpassed,” PUMA Marketing Director, Brett Bellinger said.

“Headed by the World’s Fastest Man, Usain Bolt, the series was launched in 2016 with the goal of identifying exceptional young South African athletes who believe that their future is #ForeverFaster. We are excited to continue supporting the exhilarating sport of track and field and look forward to growing our PUMA Ambassador Programme in 2020.”

The PUMA School of Speed Meets are endorsed by athletics federations, so finishing times will count as official qualification for provincial and national championships.

The APE/ASA table will be used to determine the top three overall male and female athletes.
