Gymnast geared up for World Championships

He competed at the Youth Olympics Games in Argentina in 2018 and was part of a multi-discipline team that came first and won a gold medal.

 

Gymnastics sensation Ruan Lange of Hoërskool Noordheuwel started the sport when he was nine years old and was inspired by his grandfather, who was also a gymnast.

Ruan said, “My mother took me to the gym when it was still at Hillfox and encouraged me to participate in the sport”.

This 17-year-old young man trains at Vision Gymnastics at Clearwater Crossing and already has a few national junior titles under his belt.

He competed at the Youth Olympics Games in Argentina in 2018 and was part of a multi-discipline team that came first and won a gold medal.

He will be participating in the 2019 Junior World Artistic Gymnastics Championships which will be held in Györ, Hungary, from 27 to 30 June.

When asked about the future, Ruan was quick to indicate that he wants to compete in both the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
