Team Mayhem joins hands with Laerskool Helderkruin rugby

The Mayhem Fitness team is helping the school's rugby team elevate its skills.

Mayhem Fitness Academy, based in Ruimsig, has partnered with Laerskool Helderkruin’s first rugby team to provide additional skills and fitness training.

Year in and year out, Laerskool Helderkruin is among the top rugby primary schools on the West Rand, but there’s always room to improve, and this is exactly what Mayhem Fitness Academy is aiming to do for the Kruiners. Many will know Team Mayhem for their mixed martial arts exploits and extreme fitness training.

However, at the heart of Team Mayhem are Dwain Meredith and Morgan Hunter, who on the outside may seem like tough nuts but really just love working with children and helping them improve their skills. “The school is already one of the best out there when it comes to rugby, and we are just so eager to help them get to the next level,” Dwain said.

According to Morgan, they have all sorts of ex-professionals from all sorts of sports who train with them and want to help out. One of these people is trainer Mario Papadopoullos, who specialises in the art of tackling. Mario led the first tackling-based session at Laerskool Helderkruin on Monday, 11 March, showcasing different kinds of tackling techniques.
