First SAB League clean sheet for The Undertakers

Panorama managed to score three goals in their win over Phala Stars.

Panorama Football Club continued its positive form in the SAB League Johannesburg’s Blue Stream, with a strong victory over Phala Stars FC on Saturday, 19 January.

The Undertakers went into the encounter off the back of an impressively dominant 7–1 win over bottom of the log Navada Stars just the week before, earning them their third win of the season. Panorama hoped to continue their brilliant start to 2019 in their clash with second-from-bottom Phala Stars, once again on home turf.

With temperatures well into the 30s, both sides faced the daunting task of braving the mid-afternoon heat while still having to put their best foot forward to try and come out on top. Panorama seemed to carry their spectacular form from their previous win into the game as they managed to take the lead in the first half, going into half-time with a 1–0 lead courtesy of a goal from Nadir Botha.

With the sun beating down on them, and legs starting to grow weary as the game went on, Panorama’s fitness began to carry them ahead of Phala Stars who simply weren’t able to threaten Panorama. Continuing their habit of scoring the bulk of their goals in the second half, The Undertakers managed to put away two more goals, courtesy of Sabelo Sibeko and Rameez Dharsey to finish Phala Stars.

Panorama’s strong performance saw them earn the first clean sheet of their SAB League campaign, as well as a vital third win of the season. The three points carried them into 11th place on the log, four points behind their next opponents, Sabelo Super Stars (aka Triple S). The Undertakers will take on Triple S on Sunday, 27 January at the Nike Centre in Soweto, with both sides hoping to improve their chances of a top-half finish.
