Panorama’s SAB League woes continue with second consecutive defeat

The losses were Panorama's fifth and sixth of the season, as they continue to struggle to find their feet in the SAB League.

Panorama Football Club’s struggles in the Blue Stream of the SAB League Johannesburg continued over the last two weekends, losing to Pimville Young Stars and Bidboys Football Clubs.

Panorama headed into the home fixture against Pimville off the back of a strong performance against Randburg Football Club the week before, which saw them break their three-game losing streak by earning a 1–1 draw. Pimville on the other hand were hoping to return to winning ways after they lost 2–1 to the University of Johannesburg the week before.

The game against Pimville got off to a decent start, with both sides trading blows in the form of attacks and spells of pressure. Pimville struck first, with Panorama equalising shortly thereafter thanks to a fortuitous mistake from Pimville’s goalkeeper. With the game still in the balance well into the second half, Panorama had a header cleared off the line by a Pimville defender, but not before Pimville took the lead once again, and again from a direct free kick. The game finished 2–1 to Pimville, handing Panorama their fifth loss in their debut SAB League season.

The boys from Panorama had hopes to revive their season against Bidboys the following week, playing at home once again. They had a mammoth task ahead however, as Panorama who were second from the bottom on the log, were coming up against a side on the brink of breaking into the top three.

The home side never really looked comfortable against the team 11 spots above them on the log, as they continued to stumble in the SAB League. A strong performance from Bidboys saw them claim their fifth win of the season, while the 2–0 result handed The Undertakers their sixth loss thus far, with the problems only mounting for Panorama.

The defeat sees them remain in 15th place on the log, with only two points from their draws against Randburg and Inqaba FC. They remain two points ahead of Navada Stars FC, who remain rooted to the foot of the table with no points from their eight matches. The Undertakers will however be looking to redeem themselves in a clash with Senaoane Gunners FC on Saturday, 8 December.
