Disappointing results for Etimar football players

Even though we lost all three matches, it was a good learning curve'

Players from the Etimar Foundation Development Football Club, recently had the opportunity to participate in the Roodepoort Sports Club’s annual tournament.

The tournament took place during the October school holidays, and its main focus was to offer the children something to do, keep them busy and off the streets.

Teams from ESS, Roodepoort Sports Academy (RSA), Roodepoort United, Silver Lakes FC and Etimar Football Foundation competed against each other in three age groups – U/11, U/13 and U/16.

The tournament format was a group format, where all the teams played against each other, and the top two teams in each age category went on to play in the finals.

Etimar only had an U/16 team participating in the tournament, and Timothe Ebanda, the coach, said, “Despite suffering three consecutive losses, the boys showed great character and played fair. We still have a lot to do.”

The team played against Euro Soccer School (ESS), Roodepoort Academy and Roodepoort United, and their results were as follows:

• Lost against ESS (2–0)

• Lost against Roodepoort Academy (5–1)

• Lost against Roodepoort United (5–2)

Timothe concluded by thanking the Roodepoort community for their support.
