Joint Roodepoort Athletics Club’s road race
They will host the 22nd 5/ 10km Northgate road race
The Roodepoort Athletics Club will be hosting the 22nd 5/10km Northgate Road Race on 8 July.
Both walkers and runners are welcome for both distances. The starting gun will be fired at 7.30am for the 5km and 10km races, and those who wish to compete in the 10km walk will start at 7.40am.
Entries can be done online at www.enteronline.co.za or on the day of the race at 6am at Entrance 4 of Northgate Shopping Centre. Pre-entries will close on 4 July, and race numbers and T-shirts can either be collected on 7 July at the Entrance 4 parking area or on the morning of the race.
The pre-entry fee for the 10km race (both walkers and runners) is R65, but if you enter on race day you will pay R80. If you are not registered to an athletics club, you will have to pay an additional R20 for a temporary licence. The pre-entry fee for the 5km race is R30 per participant and R40 if you enter on race day. No licences are required for this race, and anyone is welcome to take part. Walkers are also encouraged to join.
The pre-entry fee for both the 5 and 10km races for grand masters will be R30 and R40 on race day. Five rand from each entry goes to either the Mother of Peace orphanage or the Lighthouse Baby Shelter.
Everyone who completes either race, will receive a medal. The first 1 500 athletes in the 10km race, and the first 300 athletes in the 5km race, will receive their medal at the finish line, and all others will be posted.
Results will be available 14 to 21 days after the event at https://www.roodepoortathleticsclub.co.za and https://www.raceresults.co.za.
