50:50 day for Pano against Sundowns

Panorama Football Club went toe-to-toe with PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns’ youth teams, walking away with two victories from four matches.

Panorama’s U/13, U/15, U/17, and U/19 academy sides all clashed with Sundowns’ teams in the Gauteng Development League (GDL) on Saturday, 26 May.

First kickoffs of the day were at 9am, with the U/13 and U/17 sides locking horns in their respective games.

Both games were tightly contested affairs, with both results being decided by a mere one-goal margin.

Panorama’s U/13 side was level at 1–1 at half-time, with the match constantly ebbing and flowing from end to end.

The Panorama U/13s managed to clinch the victory in the second half through a poorly judged free kick by Sundowns’ goalkeeper, ending the game with a score of 2–1.

The U/17 match was just as closely contested, with the only goal of the match coming in the first half in favour of Panorama.

The defence players on both sides were faced with the task of fending off frequent attacks throughout the match, which ended 1–0 in Panorama’s favour.

Unfortunately for Pano, their good fortune was to end there as the U/15 and U/19 sides both lost their games,

The U/15 side was subjected to a demoralising 0–5 defeat, following a dominant display from the boys from Sundowns.

The U/19 team wasn’t subjected to such a hefty defeat however, managing to at least bag a consolation goal, and eventually going down 1–3 to a strong Sundowns team, which featured a host of players who already play for the senior reserves in the Multichoice Diski Challenge.
