Two hundred black belts attend training

The session took place during the South African Japanese Karate Association's (JKA) Annual Standardisation Seminar at the Mandeville Sport Complex.

More than 200 black belt karate students from across the country, had the opportunity to participate in a mass training session recently.

The session took place during the South African Japanese Karate Association’s (JKA) Annual Standardisation Seminar at the Mandeville Sport Complex. “This annual event aims to foster and maintain the high standard of SA JKA karate in South Africa and is the largest gathering of black belt students for training,” said Sensei Wendy Wannenburg, the General Manager of SA JKA and dojo head at the Horizon Karate Centre.

The event, which took place from 9am to 2.15pm, was also attended by Sensei Wendy’s black belt students from the karate centre. “After the mass training session, a meeting that all dojo heads had to attend, was held. During this meeting, the SA JKA Annual General Meeting (AGM) also took place,” she said.
