ESS coming to Roodepoort

Community invited to attend the launch

“We will have interactive sessions that promise to be fun and informative for both parents and children,” said Junior Mwale.

Junior is the area manager of the new Euro Soccer Schools (ESS) branch that will be launching at the Roodepoort Sports Ground. “ESS has quite a few branches, but this will be the first one on the West Rand. The club will be based in Roodepoort, but everyone from around the West Rand is welcome to join,” he said.

ESS was established to address an urgent need to provide children with a dynamic and cutting-edge soccer learning programme that maximises the ball skills of South African youngsters.

“Our aim is to provide a platform to create a complete and superior soccer player. We believe our programme will provide them with the necessary skills set. We want to help all children fulfill their potential, whether playing on the playground with friends or in a World Cup Final. We concentrate on achieving technical competence, before moving on to the physical, tactical and mental aspects of the game,” said Junior.

The launch of the Roodepoort Club will take place on 27 January from 8am to 11am at the Roodepoort Sports Ground, 50 Exner Street, Roodepoort. “We will have short demonstrations of what we are all about, and parents and children will have the opportunity to have some fun and participate in some soccer games afterwards,” he said.

The aim of the day’s activities is to introduce ESS to those who are interested, and to give them the opportunity to sign up. “We welcome boys and girls between the ages of five and 16,” said Junior.

“We also need qualified soccer coaches who love the game and are passionate. At the moment we only have one coach, but as soon as our numbers increase, we will need more,” Junior added.
