Studio owner and choreographer, Marlize Burger, said her team has had an exceptional year thus far.

“We took part in so many competitions and we’ve literally taken so many trophies home. Obviously, Dance Stars was one of the competitions that stood out for us and even when the odds were stacked up against us, we did well.

Now we have Croatia ahead of us and we have to start seriously raising money in order for all of us to go.”

“The ten-day competition in Croatia takes place in May 2018. It’s structured the same way as the local one but we have 29 countries competing against us on every platform, level and categories, obviously blowing open the capabilities of what other countries can do.”

Marlize said they are doing all they can to grant the girls the opportunity to compete internationally.

Talented Thando Mazibuko with her certificates and medal

“After qualifying at Dance Stars last year and not being able to afford it, our plan was to go for it all the way this time, so even though we like other competitions a lot and we will be entering them again in future, our plan for now is to compete in Croatia in May 2018 first. Sadly, all who qualified won’t be able to go to Croatia with us in May 2018 so we will be hosting a fundraising event on Saturday from 9am to 3pm at the Florida Blockwatch Hoo Hoo Fest in Trezona Park in Florida Park.”
