Proudly hip-hop

Local hip-hop dance star goes from strength to strength.

After successfully competing in the World Dance Championship in Croatia earlier this year, Mia Earle-Robertson has continued her success at the Gauteng National Hip-Hop Championships.

During the weekend of 4 to 6 August, Mia, a Grade 8 learner at Maragon High School Ruimsig, took part in the competition at the Walter Sisulu Hall in Randburg.

This competition covered all ages and levels of hip-hop dancing, with Mia competing in two ‘crews’. In her large crew, Elite Girls, she received a second place silver medal. In her small crew, JNR Perfection, she received a first place gold medal.

In September, Mia will take part in the Commonwealth Games Dance section held at Sun City. She will compete against dancers from countries such as England, Australia and Gibraltar. Maragon wishes her every success.
