Darren Chaplin recently reached his 100th Park Run at Florida’s Len Rutter Park. The avid runner was pleased with his efforts and the milestone reached. He was joined in celebration by Michelle Strydom who reached her 50th park run. Hundreds of runners from the community join the Park Run every Saturday morning at Len Rutter Park.
The 5km distance event is not only for runners but also walkers, as well those who want to exercise. The event is looking for extra hands to assist in the operations. Volunteers are tasked to operating the timer, or scanning the runners’ barcodes with barcode readers.
Experienced young runners assist with marshalling and ensuring runners stay on course. The run is on Saturday at 8am and the community is urged to join the run.
