West Rand United in top form

Entertaining soccer match at Cecil Payne

The atmosphere at Cecil Payne Stadium was electric as West Rand United Football Club’s U/12 team hosted their Emmarentia Football Club counterparts recently. The match was filled with joy and excitement, mostly for the parents, as the young boys showed off what they had learned in training.

The hosts, West Rand, were in a bullish mood as they scored just minutes after the referee blew his whistle for the start of the match. From the goal, it was clear that these young players were fully focused on beating their opposition. Although Emmarentia put up a struggle, nearing their opponents’ goal-posts numerous times, they never threatened or rattled the goalkeeper.

West Rand added two more goals before the half-time whistle to go up 3–0. The second half of the match was no different as West Rand United once again dominated in the field and scored another two goals to seal the match at 5–0.
