Maragon Private Schools’ equestrian team won the Shield for Category F (age 9–12 riders) for 2017 at the recent prize-giving ceremony hosted at Mount Usambara.

Maragon Private Schools’ equestrian team won the Shield for Category F (age 9–12 riders) for 2017 at the recent prize-giving ceremony hosted at Mount Usambara.

• Anika von Metzinger received a gold award for Equitation.

• Hannah Gerber received gold awards for Show Jumping and Working Hunter; a silver for Equitation; the Top Rider Award for 2017 and tied for the Victor Ludorum award.

• Rebekah Rebello was awarded seventh place in the Top 10 Riders.

• Christiaan Prinsloo received a silver award for In-Hand Utility; a bronze for Prix Caprilli and achieved ninth place in the Top 10 Riders.

• Ellesune Botha received a silver award for Performance Riding.

During the ceremony, the name of the riders who qualified to represent the Gauteng West team at the Gauteng Regionals at Kyalami Park Club were announced. Anika, Rebekah, Hannah, Anneshia Kok and Charnay Bean will be in Team A, Sophia Joubert will be in Team B and Shani Botha and Christiaan Prinsloo will participate in both teams.
